The Lonely Man

Ten bucks a pop!
He checks his pocket, Just enough for one go around.
He walks with a limp from a past that is so heavy it drags him down.
He has a half smile and crooked teeth.
He has a sweetness about him that many are attracted to.
He does not apologize for who he is, he may not like himself. But he is used to his own company and find its enough of a task to figure himself out, let alone bring someone else into it.
He is lonely however...which i guess is what brought him to this place.
Ten bucks in his hand for some company.
He is not a bad person, not more then anyone else. We all do dumb things and hurt and bleed and hurt others, and live on. There is sin and we will all pay the price if don't find someone to pay it for us.
He thinks very little of consequences anymore, he's had enough. He has learned to be hard and keep his emotions bottled up. He has learned to trust no one with anything. He rarely gives his name or offers even a hand shake.
I guess one could say the world has done this to him, or you could say he let it happen. Or we could blame his parents for not teaching him the ways of the Lord.
But he was hurt, either through ignorance or just bad luck (if you belive in luck)
He crys everynight and no one knows, for he crys alone.
Does he deserve better?
Sure he does, he really has a sweet heart, full of love that is untapped.
Maybe he is waiting for his Saviour or someone to take notice and work on chipping away the walls he has built.
But in the moment no one is there and he is on his way to his own chosen hell.
He does not think that way though.
He thinks of not being lonely for a half an hour.
Thats enough for him tonight to let his half smile light up the scene.
He walks in and puts his money on the table.
The woman looks at him and ushers him in.
He is nervous for he has never done this sort of thing before.
Her smile is reassuring, she has seen many men like this. Strong yet nervous there first try at something so new.
She grabs his hand.
He has not felt a womens hand in a long time.
She leads him into the back room.
And he has his fortune read!
Someone to talk to just for a little while

Nice curve at the end B~ron. You had me going in a completely different direction. I like stories that throw you for a loop. Good job.
